2015 December Potts

Family
+ I picked up John and Gloria and after we had treats and visited at mom's place they came to our house to stay for their visit. They stayed at a hotel on Friday night.   At 6 AM Dan left for Talmage to be part of Uncle Fred's funeral then to Mapleson for the burial.  Fred and Sandra had 10 children so Dan and I were busy trying to remember my cousin's names!   They were beautiful services.  I'm so thankful Fred can be at rest with so many loved one's beyond the grave.  I am thankful for his life, his love and his example.  They last 12 years of this life were very hard.  Ever since he had a heart attack he suffered from stress and anxiety.  Despite that he was always so kind and loving toward me.

Joseph called us over to his house to see his "SPECTACULAR" Christmas Tree!!

20 - we had a nice brithday dinner.. Trisha, Cindy, John, Gloria and Joseph all came to dinner.  We did the Christmas pyramid at the end.

21- Dan,  John,  Gloria and I spent the day downtown.   Dan drove and we went to temple square,  the conference center and  sigfrieds German restaurant and the church museum. After taking a rest at mms we went to a concert in wvc and saw beautifully decorated trees.

26- We began the day earrly getting ingredients for Joseph's waffalamletts!  It was delicious. Jason made pancakes and I made the drinks.  Afterwards we came into the family room for gift-giving.  The biggest (most times spent too) was the end tables and bench that Trisha and Darrin gave Larry and Richard.  They put the tile on the top of the tables and refinished them!  There was alot of thought given to the gifts this year. Lunch was put on by Trisha (delicious sandwhiches).  Dan and I took Heidi and Jason out for their Paublo date.We had leftovers and Trisha's cheese sandwhiches for dinner then gave the grandkids their books (I CAME FROM HEAVENLY PARENTS) then we watched Home Alone.

I am thankful for a quiet evening with my honey, for lube and oil places, for hammers (they come in handy), for our lighted Christmas Tree and outside, for Divit who comes at my beck and call (our dog) and for everytime Dan comes home safe after being on the crazy freeway!!

I am grateful for little lights on shiny snow, for 2nd graders who draw beautiful pictures for the poster at Cindy's school, for the feeling that I'm getting better, for Joseph who calls for us to watch Gwen, for hugs from grandkids and love that reaches across the miles and lands in my heart and for my mom's history that takes me decades back to the day my sister was born.  Thanks Father

I am thankful for my Uncle Fred.  I am thankful for the warmth and unconditional love I felt from him as a young girl when he let me sit on his lap, for how he patiently taught me to milk the cows and squirt the cats and showed me the giant steel container that stirred the milk.  The way he taught me to find eggs and gave me my limited experiences on horses.  The greatest thing about him was that he made me feel that I was pretty and important.  That was enough to endear me to him for life.  Uncle fred stepped through the door from this life to the next life.  I'm sure he was greeted by many including my grandson, my brother, my dad and my grandpa.  What an immeasurable thing it is to know he is there, surrounded by the kind of love he gave to me in life.  Thanks Father.

I am thankful to see my Aunt and Uncle from Virginia and grateful for a guest room to have them stay, I am thankful I can take an afternoon nap and thankful our kids feel like they can talk to us about challenger and celebrations, I am thankful for Heidi's yearly Christmas summary and most of all thankful that I know where my Uncle Fred is now and I look forward to the funeral and hearing stories I hadn't heard before. Thanks Father.

I am thankful we could enjoy both sides of our family for Christmas, thankful for each of our 5 children and our 14 grandchildren + more on the way, I am thankful for our siblings and their children (every one),  thankful for learning curves, for a house that is beginning to look more normal, thankful for tree lights still up to enjoy (for a few more days), I am thankful for the scriptures, for prayer and for tears to shed at touching audiobooks, videos and more.  I am thankful to be alive and be experiencing this life still.  Thank you Father.

I want to be thankful that I couldn't bet ahold of my dermatologist for an appt. yesterday, I want to be grateful for so many unanswered questions about my upcoming procedure.  I am grateful for scriptures that sustain me, for family who are there for me and for my new steam mop.  I am grateful for my new wig and for a little progress on getting Christmas put away and for my coaco machine.  I am grateful for our hawaii trip coming up and for divit.  Thanks Father.
