Heidi and Jason took us to see the house they would like to buy.  We also worked on the chains during the day. At night heidi showed a video of Link.  What a blessing to have that video to preserve his life in living color.  What a gift of love from heidi.   It  was a wonderful day.

I am thankful for tooth floss (can you imagine living without it?), for pictures, for strawberries and water bottles.  I am thankful for cell phones, for texting, for walmart bags to take while walking my dog, for heaters (yes, I sm still using it), for paper towells (Althea taught me to use paper towels for every little thing), for ice, for Dan's hugs, for our 38th anniversary coming up and for being able to listen to scriptures and general conference on my cell phone.

I am thankful for the small and simple things like learning to make my bed the Swedish way (from Lotta), like putting my hearing aid in a better place so I would remember to wear it and progress on goals like working harder at my handwriting and taking a break every few hours and a new order for my books and the power of seeing hundreds of people in our ward come together to fast and pray for Carson, age 7, who is still recovering from a brain tumor. https://www.facebook.com/CarsonRossPage
I am thankful for amazing things like the little 18 month old baby who was rescued after 14 hours in a car upside down near a river.... http://wtvr.com/2015/03/09/baby-found-alive-in-car-spanish-fork-river/   our children and grandchildren. So many, many, many things.  Thanks Father

Learned from my friend Brittany.  She shared ideas from RELATIONSHIP TRAINING.
1. You have a choice in a relationship to stay or go.  Example: he may choose to gamble. You can choose to accept that or to leave.  Choosing to yell or lecture or do things to change him is not a healthy.
2. You can choose to own your own part and let him/her choose his/her.  Example: He may choose to wear his shirt wrong or she may choose to yell at you but you can choose to stay in your own corner.

I am thankful for the song of birds just outside my open bathroom window, for the joy of walking with Dan along the walkway, for the smile of neighbors along our street, for easter decorations and cold water and the first day of spring. Thanks Father.

I am thankful for my van that got me to moms quickly so she could have eye surgery today, I am thankful for bandaids when I have a finger ouie, I am thankful for grandsons who run to give me good-bye hugs then run to me again to give another hug, I am thankful for my jacket that waits in the van in case it gets cold (like todays rain).  I am thankful for the emotion of gratitude....there are few gifts more precious.

I am thankful for the Easter egg hunt our grandaughter, Kezia, planned and executed yesterday with Dan and I. I am grateful that Dan's shirt was soaking wet after a squirt gun fight with five little grandkids, I am grateful for our good old dog divit, who insists on sitting by my stationary bike while i exercise in the morning, I am grateful for the jug of water that keeps me company through the day, i am grateful i can pray for loved ones when i don't knoww what else to do and I am grateful for the opportunity to speak with Kerri today at Salt Lake Community. Thanks father

Wow!  It's a small world.  This is from a Sister who is in our ward and serving in Thailand (where my nephew is serving"  It brought tear to my eyes.  I just wanted to share this with you!

Oh Sister Potts you are so sweet! I didn't get the chance yet to read your whole email, as I have limited time on the computer, BUT I did take a picture of your email to read the rest later!! I didn't know Elder Tew was your nephew!! Wow! I did meet him! In fact I had the chance to sit and talk with him for a while before our buses left to our areas. Wow he is so awesome. His companion is Elder Ophad. He is from Thailand! That means that Elder Tew is being trained by a khon Thai.. So his Thai is going to be SO amazing. My companion and I sat chatting with him and Elder Ophad before leaving.. Elder Tew refused to speak English! Every time we would say a word he didn't recognize he would write it down in his planner. Wow wow signs of a great missionary. Right now I believe is in Buriram! There are lots of good members there who will take good care of him. Elder Ophad is a good good missionary. I am not in the same Zone as Elder Tew but I will keep an eye out for him and keep you in touch! Thailand is such an amazing place. Elder Tew and I are so blessed to be serving here. Thank you so much for your support and your prayers!
xoxo Love,
Sister Coates

I loved the Story at church today of a Young man who was not a member but started going to church in his pre-teen years.  As the years same and went he gained a testimony and desired to be baptized.  His parents wouldn't give their permission because they weren't sure he was old enough to know what he really believed.  Despite prayers from the boy and many in the ward his parents wouldn't budge.  Finally he consigned himself to the idea that he would have to wait till he was 18.  On his 17th birthday his Father called him into his office and presented him with an envelope saying "this is for your 17th birthday."  The Young man was overcome when he opened the envelope and found a signed paper giving permission for him to be baptized!!! What a miracle.

Stake Conference notes:

Your cell phone can be an idol

Before using your cell phone decide what you'll do with it instead of wandering from app to app

It is wise to adapt your schedule to your spouses schedule

We bind Satan by our righteousness

If you are feeling Vulnerable:
1. Be aware of those feelings and talk to someone
2. Choose to act in a positive direction
3. Learn and improve for the future

Ask God in all things

When the spirit testifies to you, ACT on it.

Ask Heavenly Father for blessings.
Choose a virtue you would like (Charity and meekness)
pray for it
we must commit to use that gift for Heavenly Father' s children

If you want a testimony you must pay the price.

D&C 46- pray about everything

Lovest thou me more than ____________cell phone, computer...

Youth: do you have 5c kisses or million dollar kisses...the m&M analogy

God's will triumphs over ALL

Pres. Hutchison: Book of Ether teaches us to pray

Why pray?
a commandment
we need it to repent
protection from daily prayer
prayer increases our love
prayer makes us humble
kneel down
pray to give thanks
pray to increase faith

The Holy Ghost teaches us

D&C 63
Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you.

Story about how the mission thought that the new mission rule was to pray 30 minutes a day
