I am thankful that I learned how to download AND FIND a song on my cell phone...yes!!!  I am thankful for honest people who turn in lost things, for my kind and generous husband as he joins me in taking special people out to shop and for dinner to celebrate their birthdays.  I am thankful when I find awesome pictures and I feel the warmth of captured memories (3 cheers for digidal photography), I am thankful that Dan and i worked on our budget together (something I have avoided in the past), for sweet memories of going to the prison to speak with Kerri.  I am thankful that my toe is feeling better and that I am not shaky like I was yesterday and once again for the closeness I feel with my Heavenly Father as we talk while I pedal on my stationary bike.

I am thankful for the marriage class we are taking.  It's a great reminder/refresher.  It also increases my gratitude for Dan.  I am thankful for ice cream cones, for thank you's at dinner time, for orange slices, for dishwashers, for mirrors so I can tell when my hair needs more attention, for a garage that keeps the car dry, for the chance to unexpectedly see my brother Burton and part of his  family and ice water

I am thankful for how it feels to see our grandchildren excell (Like Tiarra in her play), for a fire on cold mornings, ofrthe taste of oatmeal, for warm slippers, for days when I have less commitments, for the freedom of living prayer by prayer, for electric lights and cars that run and fingers that type and my mom who is still alive and can answer the phone and go places with me, for cell phones that capture memories and my washing machine.  Thank you Heavenly Father.

tender mercies.  I am so thankful that my toe is going to be alright.  Because I caught the problem early I didn't have to have surgery.  I am grateful Leah gave me a heads up and I got in to the doctors early.  Thanks Father.

tender mercy - After much frustration and pulling my hair out Heavenly Father patiently taught me how to do blogspot and Facebook Invites (along with Heidis patient help)  Thank You Father.

I am thankful for little arms around my neck, extra hugs and smiles...Heidi and family are here and they always make us feel so loved, appreciated and wonderful.  I am thankful for family gatherings, for daughters who will share with me, our son who does the final test and for everything inbetween... I feel so blessed.  Thank you Father.  p.s. I like straws too!

I am thankful for my prayer page because I can put worries on it and turn them over to my Father.  I am thankful that my hard boiled eggs turned out OK tonight.  I am thankful for a beautiful home and for the chance to prioritize.  I am thankful for my speaking partner, Kerri, and the opportunities we have to make a difference.  I am thankful for the chance to listen to scriptures and general conference on my cell phone.  I am thankful I got in and out of walmart in 40 minutes (that's a miracle.)  I am thankful that some things I don't have to worry about today! :)  Thanks Father.

I am thankful I could put my friends name at the temple, I am thankful that every once in a while things work when I call to trouble shoot, I am thankful for inspirational audiobooks and for breaks in my workday and for the chance to stare at my pine tree and feel humbled at the sight of my mountain brothers.  I am thankful I could celebrate my husband's 61st birthday today and I am thankful for chances to learn and grow.  I am thankful for hand Sanitizer (it works quickly) and for soft pillows.  Thanks Father for these things and more!!

I am grateful that when I hurt my wrist it wasn't that bad.  I am thankful I had a brace.  I am thankful I got to eat a costco hot dog and that I could gget my glasses adjusted.  While I waited I saw a box for old used glasses for the needy. What a blessing it is that glasses were invented!!Oh how thankful I am for my eyes, my hands, my ears and wisdom that comes from scriptures.  O am thankful for Trisha and her kindness in doing ad matches and sharing them with more than 100 people, thankful for how Heidi who is inspiring others tro do their family history, Cindy who loves and inspires her kindergarten students, Tiffany who blesses home buyers with her caring and expertise and Joseph who helps handicapped people by working on elevators that allow them to move up in the world!  We are so blessed with wonderful children.  Thanks Father.

Tender mercies.. The tender mercy I experienced this morning was when I made some homemade granola and wanted to take it to a brother in our ward who is 91 years old today. He doesn't hear very well and I thought that when I got to his house I would probably not be able to get a response at the front door.  I thought I would have to leave the granola on in a container by the front door. I was amazed when his son drove up to the house just minutes before I got there. His son answered the door and I was able to visit with our beloved neighbor and sing happy birthday to him. What a tender mercy, to be able to actually visit  him!

NOT A PROBLEM FOR TODAY

I'm not sure where I learned this string of 5 words but it has been a mighty big help in my life!

For example:  Today I was working on my Facebook page and for promotional purposes I wanted to view the people who had "liked" my page.  I tried one button after the other until I began to get that "grrrr..." feeling.  That's when those 5 words came to mind: "NOT A PROBLEM FOR TODAY!"  I remembered that my son is much better at working with computers and programs than I am, so I moved my Facebook goal from todays list to tomorrows list. Relief caused my shoulders to relax, my forehead to uncrease and my breath to slow down.

My 26 year old son came home from work and said "I heard rumors today that 4 of us guys will be laid off.  Since I'm one of the newest employees, I bet I will get axed."  His shoulders drooped as we talked a little more about the situation.  He said "Sounds like we've got at least 3 weeks before anything happens."   I then reminded him of the "NOT A PROBLEM FOR TODAY" idea.  He decided that he had worried enough for that day.  He wrote "Brainstorm about new job" on tomorrows calendar and left with his shoulders up and head erect.

Of course, this quote cannot be used in all situations.  Sometimes the problem must be dealt with today but more times than not, it can be successfully and efficiently be delayed.

So, there you have it.  5 words that can make a difference in your world today!

CINDY
Tiarra was in Guys and Dolls.  She was dynamite.  From dancing to singing to acting.  WoW!!
HEIDI
3- Heidi and Jason only had their home on a market a few days when they received 2 offers!!  Although they are offering full price they want 3 months to close so Heidi and Jason are still looking for just the right buyer... still it is exciting that they have had so much activity so soon.  They attribute part of this to the staging.
How could I ask for more in my girl?
from her shoes to her blondie curl
She's one of 4 daughters, a joy to behold
A diamond, a ruby, a pearl

She's given us 5 incredible grands
She is bringing them up with much love
She and her hubby live life with much prayer
and they feel Link's great love from above.

She's putting God first and her family next
Her writing and church work come too
Her cooking and cleaning and gardening thumb
find a place and their trip to the zoo.

This poem could keep going on and on
but I need to head out pretty soon
So dear Heidi, I wish you a great, happy day
I will see you at my house at noon!!
Love,
mom
TIFFANY
TRISHA
JOSEPH
14- Joseph and Alicia went to Wendover for her Grandma's bday!  They got home at 4 am.

Notes from Brad Wilcox
- Jesus doesn't make up the difference.  He makes ALL the difference.
-He doesn't meet us half way.  He is with us ALL the way
- He isn't at the finish line cheering us on.  He is with

If we are already "saved" then why be so busy DOING?
We can thank Him for his gift (story of a mom who pays for piano lessons in full. The child doesn't repay her with money.  He thanks her by practicing.)
We cannot earn our way to heaven...we LEARN our way to heaven
We serve so we can become heavenly ...so we will feel comfortable in heaven.  HEAVEN WILL NOT BE HEAVEN WITHOUT THOSE WHO WILL NOT BE HEAVENLY
We ARE SAVED BY GRACE...we are changed by grace

Jesus made an investment in us
When I go to heaven I used to think Jesus would be standing there with a clipboard and say "Sorry about that Brad, you are 2 points shy"  Now I realize that it will be more like Jesus begging us to use His atonement to be changed and stay and feel at home

If he did not require practice we could not feel comfortable in heaven.

We do not tell a piano player that he is not worthy to be a pianist.  We do not tell a sinner that he is not worthy to be heavenly

Grace is our constant energy source.  It is the finishers touch
Grace shall be as your day
Grace is the presence of God's power
God's grace is sufficient for each of us.

Elder James J. Hamula      General Conference October 2014
"By the power of the resurrection all of us will be restored to the presence of God.  That reality presents to us the fundamental question of our lives.  The fundamental question facing all of us is not whether we will live but with whom we will live after we die.  While everyone of us will return to the presence of God not everyone of us will remain with Him.
